Medical Nutrition Therapy

Personalised nutrition plans that support your doctor's treatment for heart, liver, kidney, digestive and metabolic conditions.

Medical Nutrition Therapy

Food choices influence how many conditions develop and how you feel while living with them. Medical nutrition therapy means a nutrition plan built specifically around your diagnosis, test results and medications, designed to support the treatment your doctor has planned. It does not replace medical care: diagnosis and treatment always remain with your doctor.

How nutrition and health conditions are connected

Many common chronic conditions are linked to long-term eating patterns. Diets high in saturated fat and added sugar are associated with heart disease; excess body weight, high sugar intake and alcohol are associated with fatty liver; high blood pressure and diabetes are leading contributors to kidney disease. Equally, the right eating pattern can help reduce symptoms, support lab values your doctor is monitoring and improve everyday quality of life.

Why a condition-specific plan matters

There is no single "healthy diet" that fits every condition. Nutrition for gout is very different from nutrition for kidney disease, and a plan that suits one person with Crohn's disease may not suit another. That is why every plan starts with your doctor's diagnosis and treatment plan, your recent blood tests and the medications you take. As a specialist dietitian, I pay attention to food and medication interactions and adapt the plan to your routine, culture and preferences.

Conditions I support

  • Heart and blood vessel health: high blood pressure, raised cholesterol and cardiovascular risk
  • Fatty liver and liver health
  • Kidney disease, planned with your nephrologist's results
  • Gout and high uric acid
  • Crohn's disease and other digestive conditions
  • Insulin resistance, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, together with your doctor's care
  • Rheumatological conditions where diet and body weight play a role

How we work together

In the first session we review your medical history, diagnosis, test results, medications, symptoms, eating habits and daily schedule. I then prepare a personal plan with practical meal ideas, and we meet regularly to review how you feel, any new test results and what needs adjusting. If your doctor changes your treatment, the plan is updated accordingly.

Sessions are available in person at the Ataşehir office in Istanbul, which includes a body composition analysis, or online by video call in English for clients in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and other countries. Online consultations are held from Istanbul; please keep your local doctor as your main point of medical care. Results vary from person to person.

Frequently asked questions

Can nutrition therapy replace my medication?

No. Nutrition supports your treatment but never replaces it. Please do not change or stop any medication without your doctor's advice.

What should I bring to the first session?

Your diagnosis or doctor's report if available, recent blood test results, a list of your medications and supplements, and a rough idea of a typical day of eating.

Can medical nutrition therapy be done online?

Yes, for most conditions. You can share documents securely before the session, and we meet by video call in English at a time that suits your time zone.

If you would like support alongside your doctor's treatment, get in touch through the contact page or on WhatsApp.
